State of Babies Yearbook: 2019
The state where a baby is born makes a big difference in their chances for a strong start in life. For the first time, ZERO TO THREE and Child Trends are telling the state-by-state story of America’s babies. While all states have room to grow, some are doing better for their babies with effective policy solutions to help infants and toddlers overcome early life challenges. The State of Babies Yearbook: 2019, an initiative of the Think Babies campaign, provides a snapshot of how the nation’s babies are faring nationally and by state across nearly 60 indicators and policy domains in areas essential for a good start in life:
The time to make every baby our national priority is now. To do better for our babies and our nation’s future, we need Congress and state leaders to make babies a priority through policies built on the science of brain development and budgets that put babies and families first. Policymakers and advocates can use the data to identify and act on the challenges facing the youngest members of society.
