The COVID-19 pandemic has pushed our nation’s fragile, underfunded child care system to the brink of collapse. Unless Congress acts to significantly support child care, most programs will not be able to re-open, parents will not be able to work, and our economy will not be able to fully recover.
Think Babies and ActTM is a call to action for policymakers to ensure that the needs of babies and their families are front and center. Congress is making important decisions about how to respond to the short and long-term impacts of COVID-19 over the coming weeks. Throughout July, Strolling ThunderTM Virtual Voices will connect families – and their babies! – to their Members of Congress so they can share how COVID-19 has impacted their families and advocate for investments that will support and stabilize the child care system.
