Tell HHS: Don’t Eliminate Protections Babies Need
Through regulations, the Federal government sets rules that keep the food that babies eat nutritious, the day care they go to safe, and the health care they receive affordable. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), which oversees many of the programs that babies and families rely on like Medicaid and Early Head Start, is asking for input on regulations they should repeal, revise, or replace.
As parents, early childhood professions, and others who care about the well-being of babies and their caregivers, now is the chance to make your voice heard! By sending a short message, you can help protect early intervention services, high-quality early learning opportunities, and other rules that keep babies healthy and safe.
Tell HHS to keep the rules that babies need for the strongest start in life.

For the most impact, customize your comments with 1-2 sentences about your unique experience at the end of the first paragraph or elsewhere. Start by explaining your relationship to babies (are you a parent? A care provider? Something else?) and then why HHS programs – like Medicaid, Early Head Start, infant formula regulated by the Food and Drug Administration, or other health and family-focused supports – are important to you. For example: “As a parent of a toddler, I depend on Medicaid to take my child to her well-child visits…” or “As an Early Head Start provider, I know how important child-staff ratios are to providing safe and nurturing care…”
